General test for carbohyrate. The solution react with sulphuric acid,will form furfural. Then,react with alpha naphtol form violet ring


Iodine’s test

No colour change
So,no absorption on the surface of the solution


Fehling’s test

Reddish colour and precipitate
The solution is reducing sugar


Confirmatory test

Moore’s test

Yellow to brown colour with caramel odour
Aldol condensation polymerisation


Ozazone’s test

Feathery-glucosazone
Rosette-maltosazone
Sunray-lactosazone
Sugar containing free aldehyde and ketose group produce insoluble yellowish,crytal with excess phenyhydrazire.


Conclusion:
The solution is maltose,or lactose, or glucose.
